An IT Fundamentals certification can enhance any office-based career by adding technical knowledge or open doors into the field of Information Technology. Some daily duties required of an entry-level IT employee include setting up, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance of the hardware and software components of a basic personal computer workstation and basic wireless devices. This program is also the ideal starting point for an individual interested in pursuing advanced IT certifications such as Network+ or Security+.
In this 3-week online CompTIA IT Fundamentals program, you will learn the basics of computer hardware, software, mobile computing, networking, troubleshooting and emerging technologies.
The CompTIA ITF+ course will provide you with the fundamental skills and concepts required to maintain, support and work efficiently with personal computers. You’ll gain a fundamental understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, computer application software, networking technologies and protocols, web browsers, identifying security risks, troubleshooting errors and system maintenance. You’ll also learn about cutting-edge technologies such as cloud computing and virtualization.
Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll be prepared to take the Fundamentals of IT exam, sponsored by CompTIA. The cost of your exam is covered by MedCerts. Potential careers available to you with your IT Fundamentals certification include PC Support Technicians, Network Support Technician, Technical Specialist and Help Desk Specialist.
